# WHY DO YOU NEED TO LEARN MATH?

It is a person who, using theoretical scientific findings, creates new objects, devices, buildings, and materials. Projects, overwhelmingly, are created using numbers and complex calculations.

Astronomers use formulas to calculate the trajectory of celestial bodies. They predict solar and lunar eclipses for many years through their calculations of the movement of the Earth and the Moon.

A financier is a person who calculates profits and losses and analyzes the market. This profession requires a sophisticated mathematical background.

Biologists study the body, calculating the amount of proteins fats and other elements needed for healthy functioning of internal organs. Chemistry has a section devoted to new applications of mathematics to chemical problems – mathematical chemistry. In mathematical chemistry, they develop new applications of mathematical methods in which they can penetrate or solve a problem.

Programmers use sophisticated mathematical logic and algorithms to write the programs that make computers work.

But it is the physicists who need mathematics the most. There is a saying “mathematics is a tool for physicists”. All knowledge of Physics is based on calculating formulas, studied in all grades of school and in all courses of university. So that one becomes a good specialist in his profession. But schoolchildren ask, “Why do I need math if I am not a scientist, and I will be a driver.” The fact is that schoolchildren do not understand the main task of mathematics.

But students say, “Why do we need such complex knowledge if we’re not going to be professors and scientists?” And yes, they may be right, but math is used not only by scientists, but also by ordinary people in everyday life.

In adulthood, we will have a family. Perhaps we will be building our own house We will calculate the amount of material needed, in order to avoid unnecessary costs or shortages. Especially if one has a limited budget.

We will work and we will have a family budget. We will allocate our budget for the month in order to see the balance for travel, entertainment, or other purchases. Calculate how much we need to set aside to pay for electricity, utilities, internet, food, gasoline or public transportation, etc. Mathematics is found in our lives almost at every step, and in the daily hustle and bustle people just don’t notice it anymore. We calculate the time to leave home so that we will not be late for school or work. In the store, we check the change, whether it was given to us correctly. We analyze what grade we get for the year. Once again, math comes in handy.

WHY PEOPLE DON’T LIKE MATHEMATICS

However, the fact remains that not all people do not like mathematics and are not eager to learn it. One of the main reasons, besides the reluctance of the student himself, is a “bad teacher. Such problems can be imagined and understood what happens and why they are tasks from life. Such problems are more interesting to solve and find the answer than math problems where you can’t even visualize what you need to find and don’t know what for. What is easier to visualize is easier to understand, and problems that can not be visualized in life are not particularly interesting to solve.

The main purpose of learning mathematics is that mathematics lays the foundation for thinking. Mathematics can also contribute to the development of algorithmic, systematic, critical thinking of students. This is especially important for children who are just forming an order of thought activity.

Logical thinking is a thought process using clear and concrete concepts in which reasoning does not contradict the laws of logic. Everything goes sequentially one after another. Logic is the basis of deduction. A method of logically constructing events based on available data.

Spatial thinking is a type of thinking activity during which spatial images are created and are operated to solve problems. Geometry contributes to the development of spatial thinking.

Abstract thinking is one of the types of human thinking, which consists in the formation of abstract concepts and operations with them. A person who possesses the above thinking will possess mathematical thinking. The definition of mathematical thinking is as follows: mathematical thinking is abstract theoretical thinking, the objects of which are stripped of substance, but they can be interpreted in any arbitrary way with only one condition: the relations between the objects must be preserved.

Engineers, architects, and many other specialists must have this kind of thinking.

Mathematics develops qualities such as perseverance attentiveness responsibility accuracy accuracy. All these qualities are undoubtedly useful in life to solve all kinds of problems. Daily problem solving teaches us that we should not be afraid of difficulties. No matter how difficult the problem is, it can be solved.

Mathematics is the science of relations between objects about which nothing is known, except for certain properties describing them, which are laid down as axioms in the foundation of this or that mathematical theory. Conclusion: Mathematics is not called the queen of sciences for nothing. Without knowledge in this field a person in the modern world cannot become a successful person, because in business and entrepreneurship are decided by numbers. Without mathematics you will not become a great scientist or a good engineer. Mathematics must be studied, you may not need the most complex formulas, but you need the skills that develop solving mathematical problems.
